The Mountain View Cur was developed over many years from a strain of the original Mountain Cur. The breeders used strict selection methods and line breeding to develop a quality hound that would handle better. In the fall of 1996, the Mountain View Cur Registry was formed. Its motto is to breed for "Quality not Quantity, on Ability not Myth."
