The exact origin of the American Eskimo Dog is unknown. It is known that this dog is related to the spitz family of Nordic dogs and is possibly related to the White German Spitz, Samoyed and/or White Keeshond. Supposedly German settlers brought "White Spitz" dogs to the United States. The Miniature American Eskimo Dog is 12-15 inches tall. Miniature American Eskimo Dogs are known for being easily trained and obedient towards their owners.
