The Carpathian Sheepdog originated in the Carpatas Mountains of Rumania. It is believed that this breed is related to the mountain dogs of Hungary, Czechoslovakia, and Poland. The Carpathian Sheepdog was primarily used to take care of ewe sheep. Easily disciplined, this breed is good with children and is reserved with strangers.
