The Bull Terrier, also called the English Bull Terrier, is a sturdy, hearty, hardy breed that's not under-sized or over-sized. The face is distinct owing to the triangular shape of its close-set eyes; it's the only recognized breed with triangular eyes. Often called the gladiator of dogs, it also has a conical muzzle and pyramidal ears. The coat color is either pure, or a combination of, white, black, brindle, or fawn. In other words, light yellow, tan, deep reddish brown, or pure brown can predominate over a black or white coat. The triangular head is what most people remember about the dog. It's flat at the apex and has a downward slope to the nose, and it resembles a cone. The Bull Terrier weighs 45 to 60 pounds, is 20 to 24 inches at the withers, has about 5 puppies to a litter on average, and it has a lifespan approximately 10 to 12 years long.

The Bull Terrier has a muzzle that's called a Roman muzzle. It has no formal height or weight settings, and the ones mentioned above are simply commonly seen. Its common ailments are deafness, especially in white dogs, and skin allergies. Mosquito, tick, and fleabites often bring on skin allergies like rashes and hives. The Bull Terrier also suffers from self-mutilation and tail chasing which are signs of dog obsessive-compulsive disorder. A special diet may temper this Bull Terrier condition. They usually suffer from inborn Zinc deficiency, and you might need to supplement with it, according to a veterinarian's instructions. The oldest Bull Terrier was 17 years old when it passed away, and its name was Puppa Trout.

The Bull Terrier has a short coat is a breeze to work with. Brush coat regularly with a firm bristle brush to keep the coat fresh and shimmering. Bathe infrequently and keep it on a leash when it's outdoors. The Bull Terrier sheds the bulk of its hair in bi-annually. During these two shedding spurts, use a rubber glove to pat down the coat to pick up excess hair.

The Bull Terrier is a comical, strong-willed dog that's not recommended for novice dog owners. It's recommended for owners with a history of pet ownership. The owner needs to be a consistent alpha male otherwise the dog will think you're not the pack leader. In that case, it can become aggressive with other dogs. The dog enjoys racing, messing around, playing, fetch, Frisbee, and outdoor adventures at the park or on the farm. This Bull Terrier dog is a hybrid of the English Bulldog and the White English Terrier. It was bred in the early 1800's for dog fighting, but its uses enlarged over the ages. It eventually hunted rats and vermin, herded cattle, and guarded properties. This Bull Terrier dog is brave and will protect the children it hangs out with. The funniest thing about Bull Terriers is that they enjoy jumping into the family wrestling between siblings.
