The Ainu Dog comes from the Ainu tribe in Japan and is one of the oldest Japanese breeds. Known for its courage and loyalty, the Ainu dog was used for hunting large game and has even been known to attack large bears. The Ainu Dogs also have a keen sense of direction. The Ainu Dog is affectionate and obedient towards its owner, but firm training is required for the Ainu Dog.
