The Chausie is a mix between a Jungle Cat and a domestic shorthaired cat that began in the late 1960's and early 70's. This breed originated for those who wanted an exotic cat, but not a wild animal. The name "Chausie" was derived from the Latin name for Jungle Cat, which is "felis chaus."
