The Scottish Fold is the result of a spontaneous mutation. A Scottish shepherd named William Ross found the first Scottish Fold in 1961 and developed the breed from the original. All Scottish Folds are born with straight ears and some will fold forward and downward at about three or four weeks of age. This breed has a quiet disposition, but enjoys human company.
