The Snowshoe Cat resulted from crossing a Siamese cat and a white Domestic Shorthair. Their origin can be traced back to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the 1960s. Dorothy Hinds Daughtery's two Siamese cats produced three kittens that had white feet. This breed is people oriented and does not like to be left alone for long periods of time. These cats even like running water.
