These Cats do not conform to any well-known standards, but they have greatly contributed to the formation of many valuable Australian breeds of cats, which have by now obtained Championship status. They occur in a variety of colors, and possess a very easy-going temperament combined with a high level of intelligence. There is nothing extreme about Domestic Shorthairs, but they have firmly established themselves as the most common house pets in Australia.
