The Colorpoint British Shorthair is thought to have originated when the Romans invaded and ruled England for two thousand years. Over the years, the cats bred among themselves. After World War II, the British wanted to improve the breed and began crossbreeding with Persian cats. Today its tranquil nature and distinctive appearance make this breed a popular pet.
