The Kookaburra is a terrestrial bird native to Australia and New Guinea. There are several species of these birds, which can be easily differentiated by the calls they make. Some of them sound like good-natured human laughter; others make maniacal cackling. The Kookaburra is purely carnivorous, feeding on snakes, lizards and insects.
