From the order Ciconiiformes, long legged waders are adapted for wading in shallow water. They catch their prey of fish, frogs, crawfish, and other aquatic life in around water using their long necks and long bills. These birds usually nest in colonies sometimes sharing a nest with other species. Their young typically remain in the nest after hatching until grown or nearly grown. Ibises, spoonbills, storks, egrets, and herons are the more known long legged waders.
