Ducks

Small body size, shorter necks, and narrower, more pointed and rapid beating wings than those of swans or geese characterize ducks, an Anatinae subfamily. The largest and most diverse group of waterfowl, they normally live near marshes, streams, and rivers. Webbed feet without nerves and blood vessels, waterproof feathers, and insulating down feathers are suitable coldwater adaptations. Shovellers, sea ducks, and dabblers have their unique specialized bills for food hunting. Commonly, ducks are migratory and live 2-12 years.
