Frizzle Polish chicks appeared due to a genetic mutation, which determined a distinctive outward-bent shape of their feathering. Excessively curled feathers may be painful for chicks, because they often get caught on various objects and chicks end up with big bald patches. Therefore, Frizzle Polish hens should be mated with normal-feathered species. The breed was produced in Holland by Mr.Airie Bolan, and it was officially recognized in the early 1990s.
