The blue-bellied roller, a bird noted for its color variety and intensity, is often found in forest glades or open savannas. A loud, noisy bird, it sits atop trees entangling in wild fights with any large bird or it swoops down on prey below, such as lizards. Their keen sight often gains them first dibs on grassfires insects, termite hatches, or locust swarms. They move in pairs and display a wild aerial courtship ritual.
