Phalene
A phalene puppy is hard to find at a rescue since most of the dogs a rescue takes in are already adults.
These are very elegant, sweet, and expressive little moth dogs. There was a time when the popularity of the breed diminished to near extinction. Nowadays, in the United States, Canada, and abroad there is a growing interest in rebuilding the original butterfly dog’s gene pool.

Phalene -
puppy, rescue
Also called Epagneul Nain.
It is quite a debatable point as to which breeds were used to develop this particular butterfly dog. According to one of the theories, the breed came back from Mexico with the Conquistadors to Spain. However, there are paintings depicting the dogs of this breed earlier than that period. A phalene puppy is hard to find at a rescue since most of the dogs a rescue takes in are already adults.
