Pelican's Nest

A pelican's nest is side-by-side other ones; this bird will lay eggs in colonies; photos show the huge gatherings along coastal islands. As a rule these birds nest in large colonies on small isolated coastal islands. This isolated position helps them to avoid problems concerning predators, such as coyotes and raccoons. The Breeding bird is found from Mackenzie south to northern California.
