Pelikan breeders are an ultra-specialized kind of breeder.
These huge birds are characterized by a long, flattened bill. Under the bill there is a deeply expansible skin pouch. They use the upper mandible as a cover for the pouch. Their pouches are so big that adults can scoop up as much as 20 liters.

As a rule these birds live in the warmer regions of the world. They are strong swimmers and fliers. They feed on crustaceans and fish which they capture by diving into the water form the air. Adults can consume up to 2 kg of food each day. Pelikan breeders are an ultra-specialized kind of breeder.
