These birds are polygamous so one male may mate four to five females. They attract females by displaying their wonderful tails. These birds make their nests of sticks, leaves, and grass and locate them in the undergrowth of the rainforest.

Peahens usually lay 6-8 eggs. Incubation period lasts for 28 days. The young can run around and eat almost as soon as they hatch. They are able to fly at just a week old.
