There are two naturally occurring species, the Indian peafowl Pavo cristatus from India. These birds are often called Blue peafowl. The Green peafowl Pavo muticus is the second species. These birds live in Burma, Thailand, Indo China, Malaya and Java. A bird breeder is an expert on birds and chicks.
