These birds are omnivorous, though they prefer more vegetarian food. In the wild, ostriches live in family units, consisting of one male and several females. All the females lay their eggs in one nest. As a rule, the dominate female incubate the eggs in the day time, and the male sit on the eggs from evening till early morning.
