These are lovable little dogs that are among the smallest of the working dogs. They are active, courageous, affectionate, balanced, and without any nervousness or quarrelsomeness. The coat is of the following colors: red, wheaten, tan, black and tan, grizzle, and occasionally with white markings.

This breed originated in Norfolk and has been only recently recognized. The breed was accepted by the AKC in 1979 and nowadays the breed is used as a companion dog, but can still take care of vermin.
