They are secretive territorial animals. They are more active after dark but can also hunt in the day time. They try to hunt in undisturbed areas to be far from humans. In the wild, their primary prey is white-tailed deer.

Also called Cougar, Panther, Puma, Painter, Catamount.
These animals have excellent vision and superb hearing that is why they are skilled night hunters. An adult male may travel 25 miles a night when hunting. They can run rather fast, climb trees and even swim, but only when necessary. Eastern mountain lion hunting is banned as the conservation status of the species is endangered.
