Fact Monkey Spider -
picture, babies
There are old world primates (Catarrhina) and new world (Platyrrhina) species. Old world mammals have narrow noses with nostrils projected downwards. Some of them are semi-terrestrial. Their middle ear features an ossified acoustic duct. New world species have flat noses with outwardly projected nostrils, and the bottom of the acoustic duct is not ossified. All new world primates are purely arboreal, and they have strong prehensile tails and they use them when they dash about among tree crowns. These animals are ill-suited for apartment life and are meant for jungle life.
