The greatest threat for this breed is overweight, so be careful with choosing a proper diet for your Manx cat. Except of Manx syndrome, which may happen in the early age, this breed is very healthy and hardy. Manx cats reach the age of 20 and even more, but are slow to mature.

Manx cats can be trained to walk on a leash, but generally speaking, these animals prefer to be indoor pets. Like all purebreds, these cats should not be allowed outdoors unsupervised, as they are susceptible to infections from stray animals, attacks of larger animals and vehicles collisions.
