Macaw Care
Macaw care requires effort, time, and understanding on the owner's part; chicks require careful maintenance by a good breeder.
In the wild these parrots feed on a variety of plant matter: fruits, seeds, buds, nuts, insects and young leaves. In captivity they should be fed the same food with vitamin and mineral supplements. Babies can be easily hand fed.

These birds cannot live in cold climates; they require a large outdoor enclosure with a warm shelter for spending the night and making nests. The cage should be made of strong metal mesh; as these birds, especially larger species have very strong bills.
