To burn off their boundless energy these creatures require a lot of attention from the owner and provided with enough objects for chewing and playing. Some individuals can be taught to pronounce several words and whistle, but only if provided with proper attention.

These parrots are among the smallest in the world. They belong to the genus Agapornis, consisting of nine species. The most widely spread species are the Peach-Faced, Masked, and Fischers. The less common are Black-Cheeked and Nyasa. Most of them came from Africa and surrounding islands. When a chick is born, in some aviaries, a photo is taken for usage in teaching about birds.
