Litter Box
The basic premise of litter boxes is that they're toilets for cats. Colloquial terms include the sand box, litter tray, litter pan, cat toilet, and so on. Poop and pee, feces and urine, brown and yellow, are let go in the litter box. The cat jumps to and fro inside the box as he looks nervously for a place to dump in. Once he's happy with a spot, he scratches and digs furiously. After he's finished, he turns around and dumps. He then covers it back up. Since domesticated cats came from Egypt, they learned to dig into the sand to take poops. Of course, we have human technology that's imitating nature's verifiable adaptation mechanism, and it's producing indoor cats that are free to roam and play without resort to outdoors.
Easily manipulated, soft, malleable and pliable dirt, soil, and terrain are the cat's preference outdoors in the wild. Cats love to get into the soil to relieve themselves, and it provides fertilizer for the plant growth. Don't place the litter box over an expensive rug or carpet because the cat will kick up and draw up litter with the digging. Place the box over some newspapers. Litter box technology is constantly and rapidly changing. Removable litter trays with clumps of hard feces and pee are no longer necessary. Automatic machines do the work for you with sifting and other advances made in cyclic waste drainage and disposal.
The litter box of the future will require no human intervention at all. Electricity, water, and machinery will do all the dirty work of removing clumps and refreshing with new litter. The average litter box resembles a plastic tray with a deep, in-set groove or holding area for the litter. Other litter boxes, like pet carrying cages, are designed for odor retention, privacy, and removing the bad look of cats pooping before you. The wave of the future will feature exciting choices that leave all the work to the machine itself. Battery replacement, maintenance, and few things stand between you and the perfect litter boxes of the future.
Litter boxes are the prime invention for indoor cats. Cats, originally from Egypt, learned to pee and poop in the vast desert sands. They’re accustomed to the feel from generations past. They have no need to dig in the dirt outside, and automatic litter boxes are making it easier than ever to set up indoors. In fact, no scooping is necessary. Some even have roofs for privacy and odor control. Pets can poop indoors without getting cold or being exposed to the dangerous perils of the outdoors – including fleas, parasites, and predators like dogs and thieving neighbors.
Litter boxes come in a breathtaking plethora of shapes, sizes, models, and permutations. There are the small rubber square pans that are quite popular. Simply fill up the box with litter, or use a litter box liner and pour in the litter. The litter should fill up approximately ¼ to ½ of the litter box. Place the litter box where the cat can find it easily, and then don’t think about it until you have to clean it. The amazing thing about cats is that you can showcase the litter box once before their eyes, and they’ll be able to remember its position time after time.
Some people prefer high-tech, posh litter boxes. Technically, they’re called automatic litter boxes. You can set these boxes on a timer and when the timer is set to go off, it will automatically clean the box. You only have to worry about cleaning the machine once a week. There are several manufacturers that make self-cleaning litter boxes. People who are always on the go generally use these.
There are litter boxes that are in the shape of igloos and houses. The cat steps inside to a great litter box entree. There are regular litter pans, and they should have high sides so that the litter won’t get out of the box as your cat journeys out. There are small, medium and large pans, and multiple cat litter boxes too.
The litter boxes like pans are the cheapest. The novelty litter box and the self-cleaning litter box are also choices. They run over $100, however. Visit your local pet store and see what boxes are available; if you don’t see what you want, shop online at a fun store. Litter boxes are like indoor potties for your kitty friends.
