This breed comes in three size variations; they are Standard, Medium, and Miniature. Standard dogs are 22-24 inches high and weigh 45-77 pounds. Medium dogs stand 18-21 inches high and weigh 40-55 pounds. Dogs of the Miniature type grow to be 13-17 inches high with an average weight of 26-55 pounds with males being larger. Dogs of this breed are sociable, friendly, non aggressive, and extremely intuitive. Their intelligence and, as a result, high trainability make them well suited for guide dogs, therapy dogs, and other assistance dogs. These dogs live for about 13-15 years on average.
