These dogs come in 3 sizes: Standard (from 21 to 24 inches, Middle (17-20 inches) and Mini (12-16 inches.) Females of the Standard type weigh 45-60 pounds and males are 55-77 pounds. Females of the Medium type weigh 40-55 pounds. Females of the Miniature type weigh 26-55 pounds. Males of these last two types are a bit larger than females. Life expectancy for this breed is 13-15 years. Dogs of this breed can easily live in an apartment if they get enough exercise.
