The life span of this breed ranges from an average of 10 to 15 years with good health. This breed is generally healthy; however, some dogs can be prone to such health disorders as hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, hypothyroidism (hyper thyriod,) retinal atrophy and patella luxation. That is why before taking a dog of this breed, be sure to check the dog’s breeding history to look for these common disorders.
