Kangaroo females feature marsupial pouches, where they carry their Joeys. There are 4 teats in the pouch, and the young start climbing out of them at age 5 months. Between 5 and 10 months they still can poke into the pouch, and by 11 months they leave the pouch forever.

This makes them hard for predators to catch, and in defending themselves, they can kick hard enough to kill or cripple a large animal.
