This breed was identified in 1979, and accepted for champion competition in 1986. By appearance these pets resemble Balinese, and until 1979 they were considered to be ones. They occur in cream-point, tortie-point, tabby-point and flame-point, and they have long coats.

Many people mix up this breed with Siamese, but it takes no more than a brief look at their fully coated tail to see the difference.
