The aniamls are good hunters; they hunt by twilight, from the ground, and seek peccary, capybara, coypu, otter and fish and are excellent swimmers. Sometimes they are incorrectly called panthers though a panther is a leopard, a massive and powerfully built animal, with a deep-chested body and a large head.
