A hummingbird is a very small bird and photos of them are hard to get, but you can view them in person at aviaries or in the wild.
The species are called so for the sound that they produce when flying. One of the most wonderful species on earth, they are famous for their variety of colorations and speed of wings. They probably originated from insect-eating swift-like birds that lived in the northern Andes Mountains of South America.
