Horse Carriage

Horse carriages, sleighs, buggies, and other nostalgic vehicles are great for tours, trips, and sightseeing expeditions. Four-wheeled horse-drawn carriages were the standard travel method in the days of great-great-grandfathers. Wedding carriages were a common sight in the olden times too. Horse carriages were used throughout England too; they’re not just fixtures and staples of America’s rich and diverse cultural past.

The horse carriage is rarely seen any longer. Remember the TV show, Little House on the Prairie? That is how people got around in those days. There was less traffic and people were not experiencing road rage in the days of the horse carriage. But today, the horse carriage is still used by the Amish as a form of transportation. But in other parts around the country they are used on farms and on special occasions. In New York City they are called Handsome Horse Rides. You pay a fee and a driver will take you around the city in a horse carriage so you can see the sights or cuddle close with someone you love.

You may also see horse carriages at weddings. These beautiful decorative carriages bring the bride to the destination to meet her groom. They are very romantic actually. But just as there are fairytales there is reality. The Amish do not believe in cars or in anything technological. They live a very simple life and they don’t travel in cars, they can be found traveling and working in horse carriage. Very simple and very old fashioned, at least to use they are. But they really have the right idea. Imagine the money we could save if we went back to horse carriage days.

The horse carriage is still very popular on farms. They are a great way to ease the workload by transporting hay to the stables or by bringing soil or other supplies to someone working all the way across the farm. The horse carriage is environmentally friendly and a great way to go green. Too bad in this day and age we cannot go back to the horse carriage. Life would be such easier. But there are just too many people to have horse carriages, and, can you imagine the resultant traffic back-ups?
