Abyssinian ground hornbill breeders may keep their birds in an aviary.
Birds of this species range widely through the arid sahel region on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert, east to Uganda. Females of these birds have blue neck and eye wattles. Males have a blue eye wattle but red neck wattle.
