Tips in placing an effective Ad:
- The best Ads are well-written with detailed information about
your pet. You can enter up to 1200 characters in the Ad text so put in
as much detail as possible. This large text area offers you an excellent
opportunity to mention all the great points about your pet. If you
don't put much here then visitors may quickly skip over your Ad
to read the Ads that offer more pertinent information. Include the
age, coloring, temperament, and special things about your pet
such as registrations, vaccinations, if you are willing to ship
your pet, and what type of payment you will accept.
- Pictures are worth a thousand words, so take advantage of the
four pictures that are allowed per Ad and upload them as soon as
you can get some nice ones ready. If you are placing a "Want Ad",
it helps to upload a picture of a pet that you are interested
in finding.
- The Caption should clearly describe something interesting or
unique about your pet.
- Price can also be a significant factor in determining
response. A blank price will cause many potential buyers to
skip over your Ad and look instead for other Ads that list the price.
Therefore, it is important to post a price in the "price window"
and to make it as reasonable as possible.
- Make sure the City, State, and Country are entered correctly
in your profile since this information will appear in your Ad.
These are critical search criteria when someone is looking for a
pet. If you have the incorrect information here, then your Ad
may not be seen by those in your immediate vicinity.
- Consider your competition. For instance, if you are selling
golden retrievers in Texas, then your competition is all of the other
Ads for golden retrievers, not just the Ads for golden retrievers
in Texas. Breeders in other states may
be willing to ship their dogs to Texas, and, Texas buyers may be
willing to drive to other states to purchase golden retrievers. So,
if you are not getting as much response from your Ad as you want to
receive, consider the above tips carefully and review all the Ads
of your competition for ideas that will help show buyers that your
pet is better than the rest.
- How buyers will
contact you.
- Advertising Guidelines.
