These hunting hounds resemble the English Foxhound but appear to be more playful and outgoing, yet they cannot compare to the Beagle in their merry personality and are more serious. They are good with other pets and children, and are recommended for energetic people.

Also called Harrier Beagle.
The height of the dogs is about 19-21 inches and the weight is about 40-60 pounds. These dogs are generally hardy and have few hereditary disorders such as hip dysplasia. The average life span is about 10-12 years on the condition they are well cared for. A northern harrier breeder will never surrender an animal to the rescue.
