Also called Harrier Beagle.
These hounds are medium-sized scent hounds that developed in England beginning in the 13th century for hunting hares in large packs. Originally they were used to hunt hare exclusively with hunters on foot, so they were much slower, more methodical hound, reminiscent of the Bloodhound type.
