Hackney Horses appeared in the 18th century in Norfolk, England. Breeders worked toward the development of speed and stamina in the horse, and they added the Arabian gene to the horse’s genetic makeup. This did boost the targeted qualities of the breed, and soon after, the horse crossed the seas.
