Guinea pigs pets are common, popular, and adorable; aviaries are sizable enclosures for a bird or chick.
Originally, these animals came from South America; some species still live there in the wild. In their natural habitat, these animals live in small family groups. Usually these animals do not bite; they normally do not do it even in self-defense. They like to nibble and chew. They may nibble on your finger once or twice if they smell food on it or are hungry, or if they are trying to tell you something. In the wild, cavies usually breed once a year, although one species breeds continually throughout the year under good conditions. In captivity, breeding usually occur five times a year. An average litter size is 3-5 puppies. The young are born large and relative mature.

If you have never kept these creatures try to educate yourself about the care for the species and ask the breeder a few questions. These small rodents will need regular veterinary exams, which should be done about twice a year. An average life span for these animals is 4-7 years although up to 10 years has been known. They are mainly plant-eaters; however they do need protein in their diet.
