Information on the expectancy guinea life pig may be found at a breeder; breeders will also provide care tips.
The species is commonly kept as pets, as these small rodents are not difficult to maintain and are always fun to watch. We call males boars and females - sows. After a gestation period of 60-72 days, from 2 to 5 babies are born. Usually, the delivery is easy and does not lead to many complications. The newly born are little and weigh about 70-100 grams. House them into separate cages as they mature. These pets live for about 7-12 years on the average.

These rodents are used not only as pets, but as experimental laboratory animals. They are especially widely used in bacteriology for research on the effects of pathogenic microorganisms. These animals are also very useful in diagnostic tests for tuberculosis. One of the widely spread problems with these animals’ health is connected with their teeth. Your animal’s teeth may not wear evenly, but grow points that dig into the cavy’s cheeks and gums which make eating very painful. The main sign of this condition is when a cavy stops eating. In this case it is necessary to visit a vet for teeth examination. Information on the expectancy guinea life pig may be found at a breeder; breeders will also provide care tips.
