In the wild, these creatures’ diet consists mainly of fish, frogs, salamanders, snakes, small mammals, insects, birds and some plants. Herons of this species are able to fly 19-23 miles per hour. Females lay about 3-7 eggs in a clutch; the eggs are pale green.
