Also called Russian Retriever, Yellow Retriever.
The overall appearance, gait and balance are given more emphasis in evaluating these dogs than their component parts. Males are 23-24 inches high at the withers, and females are 21.5-22.5 inches high; deviations of more than 1 inch are disqualified. The peculiar feature of this breed is its dense, water-repellent double coat, consisting of firm coarse guard hair and soft undercoat. The muzzle is straight, with no heaviness in flews.
