This breed is a good example of the “all around dog,” as it can perform a lot of functions. The original purpose of the breed was to accompany hunters and retrieve the game both from water and land. Today, these dogs are used as guides and assistance animals. Due to their desire to please and excellent working abilities, these dogs do well at field trials, agility, obedience and conformation.
