They were bred to fetch the game from both water and land, so they should be able to enter cold water and swim for a long time. The size of these dogs is ideal to fit to the boat. The height of the dogs varies from 22 to 24 inches; bitches are from 20 to 22 inches at the withers. The ideal weight for the dogs is 60-80 pounds; bitches weigh from 55 to 70 pounds.
