Also called Russian Retriever, Yellow Retriever.
According to the AKC breed standard, these dogs should be powerful, active, sound and well put together, not clumsy nor long in the leg. All dogs of this breed should display a kindly expression and possess an eager, alert and self-confident personality. Overall balance, temperament and working abilities are given more emphasis than any of his component parts. High quality males of this breed stand from 23 to 24 inches at the withers; females vary from 21½ to 22½ inches. Deviation exceeding one inch disqualify a dog from the ring.
