It results in many animals with defects and faults that spoil the breed. So every animal for adoption is neutered or spayed and checked for various diseases. Prior to finding a permanent home, the dogs are placed in foster families, where they are rehabilitated and socialized. When you take a dog you have to pay an adoption fee to cover the expenses.
