There is little difference between the sexes in dogs of this breed. Both males and females are intelligent, friendly, tolerant to children and make good companions. Aggression to dogs typical of other breeds rarely occurs in males of this breed. Neutering a male helps avoid possible problems. If female dogs are not used for showing or breeding, they are also recommended to neuter, as it lowers the risk of serious health disorders and helps control the unwanted pets’ overpopulation.
